Restoring the Dodgers Team plane

Welcome to the restoration project of this former Los Angeles Dodgers Team Plane. This Boeing B-720B, N1R, is in need of a heavy restoration and Prop-Liners of America are seeking donations and parts to help complete this project.

the beginning

Before becoming the team plane for the Dodgers, N1R saw passenger service for one of the largest U.S. carriers in the country.  On 13 December 1960 American Airlines (A.A.) took delivery of N7536A, msn 18022 and christened the aircraft "Flagship Georgia".  The aircraft would fly for A.A. for eleven years. on 26 January 1971 the L.A. Dodgers took delivery and change the tail number to N1R and christened the plane "Kay O'II"  and from this time on N1R would serve the team for eleven years before retiring in 1982.

The aircraft was sold to the military for spars along with 50 other to support the KC-135 tanker program. after being picked over of many of its parts, N1R would later be place on the DRMO list where it would later be sold in a sealed bid with many others. In 2001, N1R was just being scrapped when Doug Scroggins with the assistances of Terry Shelton of ARM, Tucson stepped in and saved the cockpit from being scrapped. Doug Scroggins purchased it and had it shipped to Mojave in early 2000 where it is today. Located in Mojave, California, USA, the nose section, N1R will be move from its long term storage to a hangar were the fabrication and sheet metal work will begin.

Today the cockpit interior of N1R is in need of some Tender Loving Care TLC.

WANTED:  We are in need of vintage B-720 or B-707 parts.
