Prop-Liners
of America Aviation Museum is currently preparing
a team to restore this beautiful
ex-Delta Air Lines Douglas DC-7B, N4889C,
(8-9-Charlie).
History
of (8-9-Charlie) started in 1957 at the Douglas
Aircraft Company, Long Beach, California
plant.
Delta took delivery of 8-9-Charlie on
December 27th 1957 and had it flow to
their Atlanta base were it would go through a
number of pre-inspections before entering
service. (8-9-Charlie) would join the
fleet a week later where it would serve
Delta for 9 years before being sold to
Atlanta Skylarks Travel Club. (8-9-Charlie)
would change hands four more
times before Scroggins Aviation and
Prop-Liners saved the old gal from the
scrappers blade.

fleet of other DC-7s and dash 6s.
International Air Response was the company
that purchased (8-9-Charlie) and the other
sevens to be used for their air
tanker operation. (8-9-Charlie) would
never see operation or even be converted
but, only be used as spars. The
photo to the right shows (8-9-Charlie) in its current condition
today.
The future for 8-9-Charlie:
Prop-Liners
of America plans to restore the aircraft
back to its original condition as the day
it was delivered to the airline.
Prop-Liners mission is to have (8-9-Charlie)
enter the airshow circuit around the country
starting with Oshkosh.
